Re: what is up with this left side groin pain?

My surgery was nine years ago, but I had the same pain. My doctor told me it was probably scar tissue. I remember it hurt more when I was getting in and out of my car. It lasted for at least a few months and then got better as time went by. Why don't you call and mention it to your doctor? You can leave a message with his nurse to call you back.

Re: what is up with this left side groin pain?

Well in my case - I did go back to the doctor and he told me it was from the retractors. He even sent me for another ultrasound to make sure it was not my kidneys.

Re: what is up with this left side groin pain?

I had the same pain on my left side and now I'm having it on my right side. Usually gets worse when I'm moving around or putting pressure on it by sitting up. I'm hoping it goes away soon. It's the one thing that is keeping me back from going back to school next week.

Re: what is up with this left side groin pain?

I'm 4 weeks from TAH and still have pain on the left side of the groin. My doctor says it is where she had a tool during surgery. It does seem to get better as I recover but it was where I had the worst pain with movement after surgery. Started as a burning pain and then a sharp pain. I still get it if I move the wrong way but not as often. Don't know if it is the same??

Me too Mary - I am a high school teacher and am taking until Oct 29 (full 6 weeks) - the left side pain is the only thing keeping me down.

Re: what is up with this left side groin pain?

I'll be 2 weeks postop tomarrow. I too have that groin pain. I had a LSH. There was bruising on one side where the instrument was put in and my pelvic bone is still bruised but improving. I did notice last night that one of my groin lymph nodes was enlarged and sore. My white count had been elevated on surgery day.
I also find that sitting any length of time seems to increase the groin pain.
I hope this helps. I know all the other posts have sure helped me.
Thanks

Re: what is up with this left side groin pain?

Ditto to the groin pain! Mine primarily occurs on my left side and I notice it more after sitting for a period of time...I didn't think to mention it to my Dr., but as I read your posts, everyone is describing exactly what I feel as well.

I suppose 'this too will pass' in time? Good grief...it seems like just as I get over or get used to one little twinge, I become more in tune to something else my body is doing as it adjusts and recovers!

Thanks for posting!

Re: what is up with this left side groin pain?

I am 3 weeks post-op LSH and I have pain on my left side as well. I figured that it is coming from the internal stitches. This also hurts when I am going to the bathroom. I just assume that this is still normal while recovering.
