Intense burning

Hi sisters. I'll be 2 weeks post op this coming Monday. This morning as I woke up I stretched out. My body naturally does that. When I did I felt intense burning in my left side. Now when I cough or move a certain way I feel the intense burning. It was very painful. I am lying down now and am not experiencing any pain. It feels uncomfortable, but once I move I can feel it. Do you think it could of been some of my internal stitches coming loose? Has anyone else experienced this? This also happened yesterday and I started to bleed a bit, so i pretty much stayed on the couch all day. I'm so nervous I don't know if I did something to the internal stitches. Thanks in advanced for any replies, and hopefully there is a sister on here who can shed some light on to what this may be and if I should be concerned.

Re: Intense burning

I would check in with your doctor- the only thing I can relate to is that my sister had a ceasarian section and reached up (as you automatically do but are told not to)and experienced the same buring pain as you have - she had given her self a hernea .... but best to check with the doc. xox

Re: Intense burning

Thanks for the reply, I don't think it is a hernia as I don't have a bulge. I feel the burning on the left just above the hairline, closer to my hip area. I feel it on the inside, my stitch area looks good, it pretty much healed, just a bit of scab left on it. I don't know, if it becomes more painful I will call my doctor.

Re: Intense burning

I was up most of the night with the same burning on both sides of my hips just above the hairline. It was gone when I woke up this morning, but as I started moving around to get the kids ready for school it came back. I'm not sure what has caused it. I was really trying not to do much of anything, but now as I get up and move around I immediately start getting the burning feeling and a heavy feeling in my lower stomach. I think I might call my dr. because I'm not scheduled to see him until the 22nd. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Intense burning

I talked to the nurse and she said that as long as I'm not running a fever then there is nothing to worry about right now. I am to stay on my Motrin for inflammation. The burning is most likely the nerve endings inflamed and I need to rest as much as possible. So I guess I will try that, if it gets worse then I can always go to the after hours clinic over the weekend. I hope you are feeling better today.

Re: Intense burning

I have the same thing on my left side right above my hip none very intense and it started last night after I strained very hard having a BM and it eased up when i'm still but when I get up and move it gets worse. So if y'all find anything out please update and i'll do the same. But it sounds as it may be common with a TAH.

Re: Intense burning

Hi, I had a TAH and had the same pain but my doctors nurse told me to expect it. Ice helps.

Re: Intense burning

Ditto the same burning pain here. My nurse said to keep up with the Ibuprofen for the inflammation. We all had our surgery around the same time. I'm glad none of us are going through this alone . Here's to hoping our burning sensations are short lived!!!!
