How long does it take after a hysterectomy and bilat oophorectomy for menopausal symptoms to show up? I am 3 weeks and 3 days post op and started on natural hormones given to me by a Natural Medical Dr. I have a blend of different herbs (estrogen) and a progresterone cream. I was just curious if they start right away or can taken time to show up even if I am taking hormones. So far I feel pretty good. I was depressed and wanted to cry for a few days but that was because I was home alone and couldn't drive or do anything. I feel better since being able to leave the house and drive myself.

Seriously, I experienced menopausal symptoms just days after having my ovaries removed at the time of my hysterectomy. But from posts I have read here on the site, I believe surgical menopause symptoms can show up anytime from one day post-op to several months post-op. It really varies from woman to woman based on a number of unique factors.

i also was depressed a few days after surgery,i get hot flashes every now and then but i had my surgery on the 24th oct. and came home in two days. and for the first three days, i was in pain and then now it's just a tingling in my belly and once in a awhile pain. but no other signs of anything but where my staples were i have a little bleeding do you know if thats norm? good luck to you maybe you won't have any
