blood disorder; ITP

I developed ITP with both my pregnancies - got worse during L&D to the point they refused to do a epidural (can't do one when you're below 100,000). Developed HELP (High BP, Elevated Liver, Low Platelets) and was kept in the hospital a few extra days until everything could get under control.
The second pregnancy was monitored through the whole thing by a hemotologist. Never dropped below 130,000 until the day I checked in for L&D. The minute I got there, the nurse checked my blood and came back with the count of 99,000. The head anesth. (who knew my case) agreed to do mine right then but not one minute later after telling me the risks. DH and I agreed to it on the spot and I had the best walking epidural ever!!!
Have not had any problems since although I still linger in the 140s. Wonder what the hyster will do to that?

Me either, but I have other problems with my woman parts. Fibroids, headaches, back aches. The major problem is the heavy bleeding. My hemotologist wants to stop me from bleeding, that is his reason for the hyster. It runs like a faucet for 7 to 10 days. Some have a problem with big clots. Me on the other hand have no clotting factor. I am hoping to take care of 2 problems with one surgery. Its as if I hemmorage every month. Thats the plan anyway.
