Why the no more back pain? Day seven...

I had read earlier how many suffered from back pain, which I did and never put the two together. I often had the urge to arch my shoulders forward to release a tightening and always woke up with back pain. I am seven days out after LAVH and I do NOT have any more of that back pain. What is the correlation? My uterus was removed and it was full of fibroids. Any correlation? I am so glad I had this done and am now down to just taking a couple of Advil a day. Please explain?! Thanks!

I had horrible back pain for several years and my primary doctor has been treating it as sciatica. Well after total hysterectomy with ovary removal I no longer have back pain. I too had endo in and outside of my uterus. I am off all pain meds and still no back ache. Wait till he finds out it wasn't sciatica all these years.

Re: Why the no more back pain? Day seven...

Don't ask me why but it can totally affect back pain. I'm with rincie. I have been treated for herniated disc and sciatica for years. And while I did/do have a herniated disc, some of my pain problem was related to my uterus and cervix. I kept my ovaries. My cervix had a lot of scar tissue from a previous LEEP procedure and the gyn./surgeon said I had scar tissue on part of my bowel.Scar tissue can also cause pain. I just had my first "period" without my uterus, and while my right ovary reared his ugly head, my pain was significantly less without the uterus and cervix. Any time I used to complain, my mother in law said she had her labor pains in her back. Maybe it has something to do with the nerves and how they get compressed. I used to think my uterus must swell a heck of a lot to make my back hurt as bad as it did. I'm glad it's gone for you.

Re: Why the no more back pain? Day seven...

When there is a pain in one part of the body it tends to radiate to another part. It is a way for the body to get your attention and say HELLO SOMETHING IS WRONG HERE. When there is a pain in the abdomen it is not uncommon to feel it somewhere else in the body. Perfect example is when a person has bad gas, they get a pain in their left shoulder. It is crazy but this is something that happens to everyone.

So back to your question of why have you not had back pain, it is because the problem has been resolved so the body does not have to yell at you anymore and there is no pain to radiate to another part of the body.

There is so much more that goes into this answer but I could go on forever about how the human body works and how the nerves communicate from one part of the body to the next. To get the full answer you have to look into psychology as well as anatomy but I think I answered your question, hope that helped.
