Due Back to Work 4-21 and TERRIFIED I Won't Be READY!

I will be two weeks post op on Tuesday and I have been feeling pretty lousy the last couple days. No sleep last night due to IBS rearing it's ugly head, today I have horrible cramps and bowel spasms. I know I shouldn't be thinking so far ahead but the worse I feel the more I think about it!! Has anyone else felt this way??

Re: Due Back to Work 4-21 and TERRIFIED I Won't Be READY!

I understand how you feel. I worried a lot about the stress and exhaustion of returning to work.

A lot can change these next few weeks and you may find you are feeling much better then. But, prepare yourself for the possibility of not being completely ready. If your employer will allow you to come back part-time at first, that might be a good idea. My doctor even offered to write a note for just that so I could give it to my employer.

I hope you feel better soon. Take it one day at a time.

Re: Due Back to Work 4-21 and TERRIFIED I Won't Be READY!

Dear Leese1964,
I had TVH on 3/16 and I to fear that I won't be ready to return to work on 4/11. I am 18 dyas post op and just ventured out for the 1st time today. I tend to feel great in the AM but by afternoon I feel crampy and tired. I am thinking of asking for additional time as well. You are not alone, but we must remember that with each day brings more healing, and hopefully more energy! Hang in there!

Re: Due Back to Work 4-21 and TERRIFIED I Won't Be READY!

Thanks ladies. I am so miserable right now I am considering going to the ER. The pain on my right side is excrutiating, the motrin I took barely touched it. I am starting to get nervous. Everything looks fine on the outside, I've had no bleeding or spotting, and no fever but the pain is horrific. Any ideas?

Re: Due Back to Work 4-21 and TERRIFIED I Won't Be READY!

Have nothing constructive to add but will be watching this thread with interest as I have the exact same symptoms of awful pain on my right side - am unsure of how I can turn such a miraculous corner in 3 weeks..this feels like my new life, pain and slow movements everywhere. Hope things improve for you soon!
