Re: How long before your clothes fit again?

I needed to hear this tonight Meadowdog. I got swelly belly about 3 hours after I woke up today, only got my kids off to school and has been with me all day....actually getting worse. It helps to hear about your mom....there is hope. Just wish it was guaranteed. Sorry, having a bad day.

Re: How long before your clothes fit again?

October,

Hang in there! We are all in this together. I know what you're feeling.....don't you wonder how the dreaded swelly belly can hang around for so dang long????

I was doing an ab routine this morning and I kept telling myself "This WILL payoff....this WILL pay off....." over and over again. I sure don't see it yet!

hang in there!

Re: How long before your clothes fit again?

I just went to the local maternity store and got a belly band and "supportive" tank top to wear under clothes. It feels great!! I felt really strange going into the store, but my belly is so swollen I look like I would fit right in there. The lady who worked there has also had a hysterectomy and guided me to just what I needed.
Hope this helps someone out there!

Re: How long before your clothes fit again?

I'm trying to hold out on buying more clothes, but this week (my 3rd week back at work) is my first 5 day week, and I'm out of clothes for tomorrow! I've worn everything and I haven't done laundry. Sigh.

I may have to resort to to the too-short jeans. I hate pants that don't reach my socks when I'm sitting down! And I have all these nice pants that are just a little too small. What's this waist expander thing? Anyone here who has used that? How much does it expand? How does it attach?

Thanks girls.

Re: How long before your clothes fit again?

I feel for all of you ladies....I'm only 6 days out so I am in sweats 100% I actually tried on my "cute" yoga pants today...um, no thank you, I can't even wear panties......I hate the swelling and just HOPE that it will go away! How long are we supposed to wear the binder?? Right now I have a love/hate relationship with mine, it isnt all that comfy, but it feels SO much better when I have it on.

Re: How long before your clothes fit again?

I was worried about jeans hurting my incision! I am still wearing the binder, although I bought some support type foundation garments that I need to test out on the weekend before I wear them all day at work!

I basically found three pair of black pants (in different styles) that I rotate through the week with different tops and a third piece, like a jacket or sweater. This keeps me warm enough at work and covers up my tummy with the binder on it.

Considering I was wearing jeans 100 percent of the time before the surgery, I am accidentally dressing up more now than before! I am also making a point of rotating my jewelry, doing my hair and makeup and that helps me feel better.

I also lost at least 15 pounds due to the surgery, so it is nice to hear my coworkers comment on it, I joke and say "you don't want to do it like I did it!"

I just have a bit of swelly belly, but I am coping! We will make it through!
