Jitters

Anyone getting the jitters about their surgery? I go to the castle on Tuesday 8/17. My emotions are in a major overdrive and I am crying so easily.

Thanks, Becky

I think we all are and I am not as close as you. I swear if it wasn't for this site I would be a nut case by now. Oh by the way another grbayfan here also. I am sure we will be ok, it is just getting to the point of realizing it (post-op). Good luck and God Bless.

I agree. This way I don't drive my family nuts with comments about my impending surgery. They just don't get why this would be such a big deal to me.

I have several books (and I'm planning to get some more) and my dd is always saying, "Are you reading ANOTHER book about hysterectomies?" Oh, well.

So if I haven't said it lately, I'm so grateful for this site! We all have the ability to look at what we need (love the castle stories!) and find out what we want to know to get our "hyster fix" for the day.

Hi Ladies,

The jitters are very normal! Boy did I have them! Trust me waiting is the hardest thing, it like to have drove me crazy!

mjd2491, you are so right about family! They just don't get it!
I think it's just a case of they are not going through this. I think they would feel totally different if they were in this situation.
(Friends included) I also liked what you said, ("hyster fix" for the day.) It is so..............true. I don't know what I would have done with out this site! And I still need my "hyster fix" for the day.

I wish you all the best!
Take care ladies!

s to you all!

I also am having surgery on 8/17 and had/have the jitters! I actually was doing horrible until I went into see my GP and he put me on Paxil. It has done wonders! I think the jitters are so normal.

This site has done me wonders. It is so nice to have questions answered and see that I am not the only person concerned with "little" things!!! LOL!!!

If you want, you can email me and we can keep in contact. Since our surgery date is the same it would be nice to chat with somebody going through the same thing!!!

Jitters is an understatement! I'm going to the castle tomorrow morning and right now, I think that I'm going to go nuts before I get there. Iam almost ready to get on the next plane to Hawaii and be there instead. But alas, I won't. I probably will sit here and read some more posts and take a nice long bubble bath, before I take that lovely beverage that the dear doctor says i must drink. And, If i get some sleep tonight, I'll just dream of Hawaii....

Becky and Angela, I'll be right there with you on 8/17. Not too long now.

I was really jittery, not sleeping, crying, etc. My doctor put me on Lexapro. It helps me sleep but the mood-swings are still there.

I use this website as a "Hyster-fix" too. I tell myself that if I get XXX accomplished at work, then I can go on the board for YYY minutes. So here I am for my afternoon fix.

I can also relate to family. My father had his wife (my step-mother) call me over the weekend to ask why I was so upset with the pending surgery. It's an odd situation as I've already been through menopause and she has not. She can't imagine all the mood swings yet.

My pre-op is Thurs 8/12. When are yours?

Katie,

My dr. already did my pre-op because he was going on vacation. Due to my kidney problems he wanted to be the one to do the pre-op because he knows what's going on. I have had tons of surgeries in the last few years, 8 knee surgeries and many laps, that he felt comfortable enough to trust my judgement if I feel sick or what not this last week before surgery. I go in for all my lab work tomorrow.

I may have to follow your lead and use this site as a "reward"! I could sit here all day and not get anything done!

Becky,

I go one day before you, and I am nervous also. I'm not as bad as I was, but still, it's very scary.

I try to talk to other people about it, and I feel like they just don't get it. So, I've learned to deal with it the best way I know how.
I prayed and asked the lord to calm my nerves, and I keep telling him that I trust and believe in him.

I will pray for your nerves to be calmed as well

Good luck to you.

Angie
