..."to spot or not to spot, that is the question!"

Dear sisters,
As of tomorrow, I am 4 wks post TLH. I am 53 & having a pretty easy recovery. I hate being sedentary, & sometimes I get very impatient!
My question is...I have had spotting ever since surgery. It was light colored pink, then I passed a large clot week 2 & bled a brighter red. (Now I know I have no ovaries, so I take it that its from the internal vaginal stitches.) The spot on my pad was the size of a quarter. Panicked a little, but rested, & it subsided. Called dr., told i could come in if I wanted to. Didn't go since there was no more deep red bleeding. Keep in mind that there has never been a soaked pad during any of this. Never went back to light pink, though. Still a washed out brighter red...
Went for my 4 wk. check up this week, & dr. noted that I had called. She decided to check on my vaginal stitches since the brighter red discharge was still continuing. She saw that stitches were still in place & then spotted an area of "granulation" where tissue from the other side was peeking through (my layman's attempt at an explanation!) So she cauterized the area with a little silver nitrate, & voila!
No real redish discharge at all, just faint pink for about 4 days now.
Tonight, the deeper reddish discharge showed up again. No soaked pad, no huge amount, just a spot the size of a penny. Anytime I have tried to do too much, this usually happens. No, I am not lifting, pushing, pulling, but I am doing light house keeping, laundry & meal prep help (family does most of it- they are great!) Once I recline & take it easy, the brighter reddish discharge stops.
Has anyone else had this "yoyo" thing happen where its light pink for a few days, to almost invisible to a somewhat brighter red discharge??? I am going crazy wondering if this is normal or not??? Should I just read the writing on the wall and assume I am trying to do too much & my body is saying, "whoa girl!!"????
Tired of being a yoyo, girls! Any advice or like stories?
Sorry for the long ramble, but tired of the "wondering" all the time...

Re: ..."to spot or not to spot, that is the question!"

Here's what my doc said about it. He said if it was bright red I was doing too much, and if it didn't go away with rest I needed to come back in. If the discharge was any other color (and I had most colors) it was normal. All my spotting stopped by 6 weeks. Hope that helps!

Re: ..."to spot or not to spot, that is the question!"

I have had spotting since a week after my surgery, nothing at first post surgery, and then a week after - non stop spotting, Im now 7 weeks post op, don't see my surgeon til next week, it varies between bright red and pink. Ive asked the ward, my gp , and asked whilst in A&E for a dvt, and all say, its just normal. but surely I should be almost healed by now. There is no way I can be classed as overdoing it, other than the regular hospital visits regarding the clot in my leg, Ive not done much at all.
