Lab work before hysterectomy

I had my pre-op bloodwork on Monday and I would love to know how the values look. Do you guys get to see your results online or have them emailed? Or do you call? Thanks

I had mine the day of surgery, they all showed up in my online chart after I was discharged. Nit took a few days

Talk to your doctor about getting those. I think all hospitals and doctors are different, and will distribute those (if you ask) different ways.

Mine will be available to me when I see my family doctor after surgery. I haven't seen him since February but I know he'll print me up a copy for my own files.

Depends on where you are. In my province, I had to submit a request to the hospital in writing. The results were snail mailed to me once they became available. This took a few days, as the tests included bacterial swabs and urine samples that had to be "cultured" to see if anything yucky would grow in them.

It does depend where you live. Where I live, you register once online, get a PIN, and anytime you have labwork thereafter, you just log onto the website with your email and PIN and it is there. I can even do "analytics" which compares values of different things (like if you're anemic and want to just track your red blood cell values). It's pretty awesome. Prior to this system, I would have to ask my Dr for copies.

I called to ask a few days before surgery and asked again day of for anesthesiologist to look them over. They did show up in my online portal but after surgery. lol
