Sex and stitch poking my husband

I went in for my 6 week check up on June 19th. I had one little section of cuff that had not healed yet. My surgeon cleared me for everything, including sex, but said if I could wait a couple of week, wait - so I did.

On July 12 my dh and I had sex. He is able to feel a stitch. He said it scratches the head of his penis and occasionally pokes him.

Fast forward to yesterday - I still have it. I am now 13 weeks post op and still have at least one stitch. I have felt inside and can feel it too. Luckily my husband makes jokes and asks me if I can go back to surgery and have the teeth removed...LOL - but is it normal to have any remaining stitches after this long???

All the office can tell me is "it' takes a while sometimes?"

Thanks.

Re: Sex and poking my husband

I'm not sure which type of sutures they used for you but mine are barbed and take more than 60 days to dissolve. I'd definitely go for a check up and ask the dr if he can snip that end or something. Hubby shouldn't be poked at all.... I do like his teeth joke though. Sounds like something my husband would say.

I hope your stitches dissolve soon!!!!!!!! I am not cleared for sex until 8 weeks. 3.5 more weeks!

Re: Sex and poking my husband

Barbed??? LOL and I thought surgery would be traumatizing for me

Now all I have in my head is how the heck would my surgeon snip that? He is high risk and very hard to get in to see so I am hoping that "take a while" is not much longer.
