6 Days till surgery:} ~ keep ovaries?

I'm 47 and have been researching and thinking about it since may. Consultant recommends ovaries to go. At first I said no but having spoken to my family dr and another, along with a couple of friends who didn't have them removed and later faced more surgery, along with resding this and some I dependant research I have decided to have them removed as I don't want further surgery.
Drs tell me that once her levels right I will feel so much better than now. I'm prepared for a bit of a bumpy ride at first.
As for risk of osteoporosis, a total change of lifestyle and diet will help. I would rather feel better for the next 20 yrs and deal with the risk (and can't find evidence to support there is a significant risk) than have a life of pain and further surgery. They can't locate one of them with all the mess in there.

I had both ovaries removed b/c reason for surgery was massive ovarian cyst on right side. The left ovary had adhesions to bowel. Uterus had fibroids and polyps. Was menopausal before surgery (about 7 years) but have had some hot flashes post op so I guess the left side was still putting out some estrogen! Not willing to use HRT though because of the side effects so hoping lifestyle and diet will offset occasional power surges!! :-)
