Three weeks left
So I have three weeks left until my trip to the castle and I have had the weirdest things running through my mind. Like how long am I going to have to go without showering or washing my hair? I am so anal about getting a shower and having my hair clean everyday. Any advice or comments on how long to expect to go or tips on handling showering and washing hair after surgury?

Re: Three weeks left
I could have showered at the hospital if I wanted. I think I showered the day after coming home from the hospital and could wash my hair then. Shaving.... That s another story! Lol the no bending made that tough.

Re: Three weeks left
I had surgery on the monday, was feeling too horrible tuesday to care about showering (ended up spending 2 nights in hospital) and was begging for a shower wednesday morning- they were more than happy to let me and I'm sure I would have been allowed on the Tuesday if I was feeling better. Best.shower.ever.!!!

Re: Three weeks left
Well that doesn't sound too bad and frankly during the winter I just don't care if I develop cricket legs from not shaving for awhile. Hubby will just have to deal with my legs chirping when they rub together in bed. LOL. I just hate feeling dirty and my hair getting oily.

Re: Three weeks left
My shaving for the first time was a joke! I missed so many spots. A few days later I remembered I had hair removal cream and could apply that easier then I could shave. Worked much better!!

Re: Three weeks left
hey date-buddy. Im sorry you are having to have the surgery - but glad I have someone on the same date as me - to kind of go through this process with! I'll be a TAH though.
I cant beileve we only have 3 weeks. im FREAKING out about things getting done. Need to freeze meals, need to get caught up at work because im the only one who does my job - and im scared to come back to a disaster. Need to clean, catch up laundry and GET MY TREE UP because i know i wont feel like it after.
I guess tho - all the staying BUSY might help keep me from being so scared/worried about all the "what-ifs" ...
As for your original question - after my c section i was able to shower the next day. Just have to be VERY careful not to slip. i made my husband sit in the hospital bathroom with me cuz i was so scared id fall. the warm water felt heavenly on a sore belly. I'm guessing they will want us up and trying to move around as quickly as possible, so id think a shower would be fine.

Re: Three weeks left
Who knew three weeks could be both terrifyingly close and ridiculously far away at the same time? I feel like I'll never get everything done in time.it is good to know I am not alone.

Re: Three weeks left
I showered the day after I got home. Discharge papers said I could shower immediately. I have really long hair so my daughter came over to dry and style it for me. Didn't think hubby would do real well with that! LOL! It was a short shower since I was so tired but it felt sooooooooo good!
My surgery was an emergency so I didn't have any meal planning time. Thank goodness for my wonderful (grown daughters) my mom, neighbors and friends who are still doing the cooking for me. Hubby's not good at that either but he has been totally amazing making sure I do nothing to jepordize my recovery.
