8 weeks post op and need help!

I had a davinci hysterectomy on Feb 12. I was just cleared for sexual intercourse at 8 weeks due to the fact I wasn't 100% healed @ 6 weeks.

Last night my dh and I tried to have an intimate moment and I found pain too intense. I have never had this experience before surgery and I don't know if there is something else to do or try or if I just need more healing time. I was never able to have children so I can't compare to "post child bearing and sex". I am concerned since we had a wonderful life prior to surgery and now I am worried that it may have relieved one problem to gain a new one.

My dh is being very patient about all of this but I want our life back together to be as good if not better than before.

Did you try lots of lube?? I am not at the point that we can try but am concerned with my A&P repairs...as there are more lines of sutures than just the TVH...I imagine it will just take some time going gently and slow for things to improve...best of luck...and let us know how it goes...we are all in the same boat!

Well I can tell you know that the 2nd attempt was much more successful. Lubrication was a big part of the problem but it is a slow, slow, slow process when you are able to resume. It's a big load off of my mind. I do know that in time, it will be back to normal and that's a huge relief. I can tell you my dh was relieved because he is concerned about me and not wanting me to be in pain of any kind. He is so supportive. He told me that if for some reason it couldn't happen it was ok because he loves me! 23 years of marriage and he still cares that much...I am one woman who has been blessed by the Lord!

aw how sweet he is! You are very blessed. My husband is the same way. But I'm only 8 days post op so I have a long ways to go! I hear that you have to use lots of lube, and also experiment with different positions, ones in where you are in control, so you can control the speed intensity and depth, and you can stop if it gets too painful. Let us know how things progress if you don't mind! I want to know what the future might hold for me and my hubby when it comes time for that! Thank you!
