Re: Fatigue after hysterectomy

I still tire quickly, and it's been over three weeks since my operation. Luckily, every week, I have a little more energy than the week before. I'm just impatient to have pre-operation energy level back.

Re: Fatigue after hysterectomy

Absolutley! I never slept so much after my surgery while I was healing. After I went to work I would take 3-4 hour naps on the weekend. In Nov it will be 1 yr since my TAH. I'm feeling great. The tiredness is not to much of an issue. Usually by the end of the month I take that 3-4 hour nap. I was never a napper prior to the surgery. Your body heals whild you sleep. The tired feeling that I experienced is like no other. I think only women that has had a hysterecomy experience this kind of tiredness. Listen to your body and sleep. Take care

I had those few good days and then wham! the fatigue is there. I know I am expecting myself to get going too soon. Keeping myself down is a hard thing to do. Hang in there! We can do it!

Re: Fatigue after hysterectomy

I too had surgery on July 30 and am so tired all of the time. Most days I sleep 18 out of 24 hours. I can take a 10 min shower and then be so tired I sleep for an hour or two afterwards. I am told it is normal to be tired as the body is working extra hard to heal, and that meds can have a tiring effect. I hope to be able to be less tired now that I am out of pain meds.

Best wishes on your recovery
