Bleeding!!

Hello! I am 10 days post op and up till this point I only had a pink tinge when wiping and then some yellow brown discharge. Now after I showered I'm bleeding ! It's red not brown or dis colored anyone have this happen to them? I'm achy but not unbearable pain.

Re: Bleeding!!

You definitely need to call your doctor about this if you're changing more than a pad an hour (or the bleeding noted on your post-op instructions).

I had an incident of bleeding about 10 days after my operation. For me, it was on the same day as my post-op appointment. My doctor checked me and said it was OK. It took me longer to calm down than it did for the bleeding to stop.

Of course, it's not necessarily OK, and it's something you need to discuss with your doctor.

Re: Bleeding!!

I way over did it today. Had a clot pass and started bleeding like I was on my period. Called my dr he put me on bed rest for the rest of the night. Says if not better tomorrow to call him and he might need to see me before my post opp appt on Wednesday. If you overdid it today u might have torn some stitches. I think that's what I did. I have pain in my right side. I think I can do anything but I'm hard headed and this is what I get .

Re: Bleeding!!

I was told if you're saturating one to two pads an hour, you should head to the ER.

I had a pocket of blood release at about ten days and I thought it was redder than the spotting I had before. It's so hard to tell and every new thing can be so scary. Be vigilant but know that it's likely everything is ok. I'd monitor your temp and insist on being seen if your bleeding as I suggested above. I'd try to rest and recline to take as much pressure off your surgical site as possible. GOOD LUCK!

Re: Bleeding!!

Same thing here, I had a "pocket" of blood release and it TERRIFIED ME!!! I went straight to the e/r. Rest rest and more rest... It is hard when we feel so much better but I am all for relaxing now!!
