12 days post hysterectomy (TVH) feeling no significant changes??

So I'm feeling a bit Plato......still getting shooting pains and I find it difficult sitting on a chair upright or in the car for any amount of time.
I feel I've been like this since day 3 with no progress really. My op was TVH with Ovaries removed too. My question is, do any of you ladies feel ok following vaginal hysterectomies or are you feeling the same as me? X

Re: 12 days post TVH feeling no significant changes??

I felt absolutely horrible after my TVH. My belly looked easily 7 months pregnant, I was very sore and took my pain meds for a long time. I didn't feel at all like myself until week 3. I also couldn't sit for more than a few minutes and my bladder ached badly. It got better for me, but very slowly. Hang in there!

Honestly out of all the surgeries the vaginal one freaked me out. I looked at my dr and told him no freaking way..he laughed and explained I had three children naturally that this was smaller and I told him just because I'd done that didn't mean I wanted surgery in there. I was so thankful my uterus was too big and had to go tah. I think you ladies that had the tvh are rock stars. I'd be wanting a tiara and glass slipper for that.

I was totally freaked out at the thought too! I would have greatly preferred a TAH, but my doctor said no. He said this was a better option for me and I had no need for an open incision. I wondered how he would see that far up there... Would he use long skinny tools? And my poor, exposed vagina... Total heebie jeebies at the thought of what would happen to me during surgery.

And I'm still waiting for my tiara...
