Pain in neck and shoulder?

Hi!
I had my hysterectomy a week ago today. Laposcopic keeping my overies. I have no pain from the operation with the exception of severe neck pain. My gyno is sending me to an ortho docter. I looked all over this site to see if anyone has ever had this problem with no luck. I am told it could be from the position of my neck during surgery OR it could be from the carbon dioxide used to inflate the organs for surgery. I would love to know if anyone has gone through severe nexk and shoulder pain too?

I had my LSH a week ago yesterday. I also experienced neck and shoulder pain. My GYN warned me about it prior to surgery. She did say that it was from the gas they used to inflate for surgery and that if often settles in your right shoulder/neck area. I didn't believe her until the day after surgery. Happy to say that the worst of the pain is over for me. Hot compress worked well for me! I hope you feel better soon!

When i had my Laparoscopies i got bad gas pains in my sholder and neck. they said it should lonly last for 24-48 hours but i had it for days after. I hope you feel beter

When I had my I did have some neck and shoulder pain. My dr told me it was the gas. It did not start bothering me unitl after I left the hospital.

Thank you for the reply. We are the same age and had our surgerys at the same time. My sisters husband is an ortho DR and he gave me some med's to help (Celebrex). I hope the pain goes away soon as i have had hardly any other pains but the neck.

I didn't have this pain from my LAVH but yrs. ago when I had my tubes tied I had it & it hurt so bad. It was gone the day after but when I went to the Dr. for a check up I told the nurse, she said I was lucky, some people it last 6 weeks!
