Adrenal Fatigue

Hi Ladies... I am almost 6 months post op and while I was at the gyno drs last week to find out my Bio- Hrt test results she said I have " Severe Adrenal Fatigue". My hormone levels were very low... ALL of them, and besides that my BP was sky high. My BP had always been normal ( until my surgery ) so that alarmed me and steadily since my hysterectomy is has been climbing, which surprised me because I started exercising ( bicycle riding up to 60 miles a week ) and watching what I was eating. Well after reading on the internet and in this wonderful board it looks as though the high blood pressure could be partly from my low estrogen levels?!?! Has anyone out there ever had the Adrenal fatigue and what that exactly means and what are the symptoms of that?

I hope your all doing well. My DR said I will feel so much better once I can get on the Bio-Hrt regimen but she won't start that until she can get my blood pressure under control.

Thank you ladies!

Adrenal Fatigue

Hmmm? First off, sorry to hear that you are feeling out of balance with all this. One thing affects another, no kidding, and wouldn't it be great if we could get all of our body systems working together! I am finding this is a problem with seeing "specialists." They can work on one body part but can't help with another that is falling apart, whether or not it is related! But, it sounds like you have a good and caring doctor who is crossing over boundaries to help figure this out... best of luck with that!

I can relate so much to your post! My BP has skyrocketed too since surgery, and now I am on waterpills (HTCZ), but I am feeling like that is not the solution. I have also been regularly exercising by walking, and trying to limit/reduce my salt intake. However, presently I don't take the HRT because of the cancer dx, and since I have not had my hormones tested (or adrenals) I may not even need hrt. (So far my menopause symptoms have not been too bad.) I read an article recently that correlated lack of estrogen with elevated salt levels in some people. I printed this out and brought it with me to my county clinic GP appt a few weeks back, but he didn't seem to be too interested. He just upped my waterpill dosage. Oh well.

Please if possible keep us posted about your findings! Wishing you the best!

Adrenal Fatigue

Hi Folky!

Thank you for your response. My dr talked about possibly putting me on water pills too. I go back to her office tomorrow morning to get my blood pressure checked! Wish me luck.
I will definitely keep you posted.

Take care...

Adrenal Fatigue

I had adrenal fatigue one year postop. Was told that my adrenals, trying to take over where my ovaries left off, "broke" under all that stress. The following is an article you may find helpful:

With the help of my endocrinologist, new healthy living habits, and hrt, I am feeling much better. Hope you find your answers soon, too..............s.....Deb
