Help... Burning pain on first try

I am 8 weeks post op for tvh with A/P repairs. When my husband and I tried sex for first time, I had a lot of burning like the skin was just too tight. Did use some lubricant. Decided to wait longer. Has anyone else had this problem, and what helped you? I am nervous as to how long this will be a problem. My husband is soo patient, but I am upset with myself. Please help if you can.

Thanks so much

Keep trying with the lubricant. Maybe trying some manual (with fingers) to slightly stretch the area before intercourse. Just make sure to relax and be 'moist'.

Don't stress! If DH is being patient, you are very lucky. A friend of mine who is a bit over a year post-op told me that after her radical hysterectomy it took some time for her and DH to re-learn their entire routine. It will most likely take some experimentation and trial and error. I would suggest buying some new and interesting aids and trying them out slowly. Right at the local drug store you can buy some really neat KY products. Think of all the fun you could have getting it right.

I can understand where being hard on yourself would be the first reaction, but in reality, you have had major surgery and your body is different now. The more relaxed you can stay, the easier it will become. With the right attitude this could be the most fun you've had in a very long time

Hang in there sister
