Period "symptoms" at 6 weeks from LSH?

I've suffered from PMDD (severe pms) for the past few years. My hyster (LSH) was 6 weeks ago today. I haven't had any hormonal problems other than hot flashes and night sweats until now.

Could it be my "time of the month" hormonally? I kept both ovaries.

I feel achy and tired and very moody. Not to mention my skin breaking out.

Anyone else????

Im just under a week post-op but my Dr did tell me that by keeping my ovaries I may still experience both PMS and some mild symptoms during ovulation. My step-sister who had her hyst. many years ago and kept her ovaries said she still suffers from PMS, but generally can control it well with motrin and/or ibuprofen. So, yes, you probably are experiencing just what you suspect.

A call to your Dr might be in order. Maybe he can suggest something to make it more bareable for you.

Hi BetsE,

It sounds like it could be PMS.

I am 2 yrs post-op from my LSH and I kept my ovaries. I get some PMS symptoms like breast tenderness, mild irritability and I occassionally break out too. Just no period anymore.

Best wishes,

Mary
