Nine days post-TVH

"This is my 9th day the day before I ran a fever but dr got me antibiotics" I'm feeling better just having trouble sleeping comfortably. I've stopped bleeding just some yucky discharge. Sometimes when I can't do anything get a little sad wonder if I did right thing just keep thinking it's got to get better. cried a few times don't know why cuz I still have my ovaries but I figure my body is out of whack. Think tomorrow may go out to my mom's get a little fresh air.

Hi Dallas, I had a TVH on January 21st. Don't become discouraged, the bleeding will stop eventually. Just plz don't lift anything or even move around too much. Just relax & be taken care of, u'll get ur chance 2 go for short walks soon enough, but this early, try to rest a lot.
I often wondered if I did the right thing as well, bcuz the recovery seemed soooo hard. I felt maybe the painful periods I used 2 have were somewhat more bearable than the after pains & twinges & discomfort.
But, rest assured that these feelings will pass & very soon it'll just be a memory.
I'm 8 wks post-op & I'm doing much better, I feel great. I only feel a little pain & discomfort when I overdo it, but generally I'm much much better.
Another thing, even though our ovaries were kept, somehow all the menopausal symptoms seem 2 b there. Hot flashes, night sweats & moodiness, etc.... I don't have a medical explanation for this, but I know that this too will lessen in time.
So. hang in there. The posts from other women will help u 2 realize that ur not alone, it's really encouraging. So hang in there, u'll make it - I did!

Fresh air is good, but don't over due it getting there. Riding in the car, walking, ect. Take care of you and remember you are still healing.

I think I do remember getting a little *cabin fever* at about 1.5 weeks.

Hang in there...I made it too.

Hi dallas34

I also had a TVH and kept my ovaries. During the second week after my surgery, I cried at the drop of a hat--and I'm talking , not just a few tears. It's totally normal for your hormone levels to fluctuate a while after surgery. The ovaries have been handles and are a bit bruised, and they no longer have the uterus to communicate with, so everything's a little freaked out. My emotions settled down during the third week.

It's really frustrating to not be able to do the things that help us feel normal, so it would be good for you to go visit your mom. You'll be out of your own house, and I imagine she'll pamper you pretty well.

Take it easy. This won't last forever.
