4 weeks -- Doc Appt...

It is now 4 weeks after my surgery and I am feeling better. I am still feeling some pain in the abdominal area where the surgeon did his thing, but I believe that is normal after surgery. Tingles, itchy, and numb. Sore when I rub the area and I am careful how I move. I am still at times using my tummy pillow but I am trying to wean myself of its use.

I had my weekly doctor appointment and the doctor was pleased with my progress and the fact that the incision looked good. He also did another bladder exam...wanting to make sure that the bladder was not retention. Which it was doing its job. He wants now to do a cystotopy....something about wanting to making sure that the bladder is truly healed. He wants me to sit in this unique chair, put a scope up into my ureatha and check that way. Sighs.....I know he wants to make sure and all that I am doing ok and all....

I did ask him when did he think he will release me so I could go back to work...he told me that he believes 6 weeks. We will see....

Does anyone else have the tingles, the sensitive abdomen, etc? And when will these feelings finally go away? When will it finally heal? Just want to get my life back to normal....normal as I can after a hysterectomy.....

I'm so happy that your recovery is going so well. Remember though, that internal healing takes a while. There was a lot of work done, and internally, it can take up to a year (and if you over do, even longer) to be completely healed.

Even though you may need to go back to work in 6 weeks, remember that you will still be a healing Princess for a while.

Keep us posted.
