Laproscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy

LSH for short. I have been reading with about this procedure. It sounds like the way to go. The problem is, I have not found a doctor in my area that does it... I would almost bet there is... living in the St Louis Metro area! Can anyone out there help?

I think your best bet would be to pull out the yellow pages and get on the phone. I was fortunate as the 1st I'd heard about it came from the Gyn I was refered to by my PCP.

and I do believe my Gyn is an incredible person on top of a skilled surgeon. He'd told me at my pre-op the only thing that would prevent me from having a SLH would be his inability to stop the blood flow-at, which point I would wake up in recovery with a SAH/BSO-verticle cut. Well, 10 hours later after an 8 hour surgery I woke up in recovery with a SLH/BSO. He'd run into a very dense/stubborn 2 1/4lb ovarian tumor, fibroma. We weren't very popular at surgery center that day-went over estimated time by 4-5 hours : )

My recovery was amazingly fast and uneventful.
