Minnie Mouse pads or ClaraBell Cow pads?

Hi, you might not be able to answer this since it seems as tho everyone is different, but some general info would be helpful. My question is after TAH what sort of pads would I need (liners or big ole fat ones), How many do you think I'll need, How long does the bleeding last?

I hope I've not been asking too many questions of you ladies, but I keep thinking of things I'd like to know about.

thank you all so much
Ronda

Minnie Mouse pads or ClaraBell Cow pads?

Hi There !!

I wore the hospital O.B pads while in the castle......

I had a TAH/Bladder repair, and didn't even have to wear a pad home from the hospital. Only "spotted" in the hospital for 2 days.

Based on my experience, pantyliners would have been fine !

Good luck to ya !

Hi Ronda!!
Ask away!!! Thats what this wonderful site is all about, asking questions and sharing experiences and information! Please feel free to ask as many questions as you like as you think of them.

As for the pads, I also had a TAH and I had the big ole pads for the first 2 days, and then went with the panty liners.

I had very little bleeding at all in fact.

So if you are taking your own, might be a good idea to take some of each type.
Hugs,
Maria

Minnie Mouse pads or ClaraBell Cow pads?

Hi, Ronda,

I like Maria's idea of bringing both. I've planned on using the skinnys for the crotch and the mattresses for the belly later on. I figure if neither of those prove necessary, I can always have fun by sticking them all over my elbows, knees, hips and other strategic places for etra padding in case I fall down when I try to walk!

Hi Ronda,
I'm 11 days post-op. I used the hospital "mattresses" while in the hospital the first 2 days then didn't need anything after that. I did choose to use panty-liners when I got home until I discovered that I didn't have any bleeding!

Good luck with your surgery!

Minnies

I had a TAH/Burch on Monday, and so far I haven't had any bleeding at all! I'm sure I'll get a little when my stitches dissolve, but... I've been wearing the hospital pad just because my Dr. sent me home with a catheter (his form of a leash) to keep me close to home until next week- and this pad is more comfortable with that.

Also, I haven't had any oozing from my incision since Tuesday morning when they took the dressing off. I had sub-q stitches, though, instead of staples, so I think there's less chance of oozing...

Woohoo! I didn't need anything!! I had TAH and have gone the longest time in 2 years w/o pad or tampon since! Unbelievable.
Of course I went to the castle prepared w/ mega pads just in case! Everyone is different, though!! Good luck. I am so happy I finally did this and will soon have my life back!

Funny Thing about Younger Women

The funny thing about younger women and catheters is they don't always work! The foley tube is so soft, my involuntary sphinchter keeps clamping it off. Sometimes I have to go ahead and sit on the potty anyway and "let myself go" before the sphincter will release! I woke up this morning and the bag was empty! Sure hope the Dr. wasn't counting on the foley keeping my bladder empty! The good thing is - I shouldn't have a problem going on my own on Tuesday!

God Bless - Wendy
