Commercials

Hi! I am a week post op (TAH) and doing well. I know this sounds crazy, but when i see commercials for birth control, pads, Midol, etc. I feel sick to my stomach. Hubbie says its psychological, but I wonder. Anyone else feel this way?

Re: Commercials

I don't feel sick, but there is sort of an awkward, uncomfortable feeling when I see them. I guess it reminds me that I will never need those "female products" again. Sometimes that makes me happy and sometimes that makes me sad.

Re: Commercials

I'm surprised that I haven't gotten a letter from the Tampax company...I think my hysterectomy may have seriously damaged their profits.

I can't say that those commericals bother me.... now ones for "uncomfortable vaginal itch" or yeast infections send me up the wall... but I've always found those to be gross... so it's nothing new

Re: Commercials

Maybe since we're saving all that money we used to spend on feminine products, we could afford a therapist to get us though all these weird issues we now have.

Re: Commercials

The tv commercials don't bother me. In fact whenever I see the one about the girl dancing at the club all of a sudden getting interrupted by the "gift bearing lady in red" I just go, "Ha-ha!" like the mean kid on The Simpsons.
However the other day when I went to the store, my daughter and I went through "that aisle" to get some Summers Eve wash. And I kid you not, that 80's song, "Don't You forget About Me" came on over the store loudspeakers and I looked over at the pads and tampons and found myself weepy eyed! I thought, "what the?" because I'd bled enough before my hyster.(9 months continuously-no joke) to the equivalent of 4 years of normal periods. Oh well, such is life.

Re: Commercials

I had been bleeding since febuary and I know that tampax stock should be down lol, they at least could have sent me a card while in the hosp. I am very grateful for not needing those products but it seems like its not real yet!
