Hi there Ladies! I am 9 days post op hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries due to very severe advanced stage endometriosis and pelvic adhesive disease, and possible ovarian/uterin cancer (awaiting results from biopsies). I am 33 years old.
My question is how long after the procedure does the dreaded "menopause" symptoms begin?? As of right now when it comes to my emotional state/ mood I am in very good spirits and feeling very positive/happy, no hot flashes as of yet thank goodness
I am having a little trouble sleeping but it's not keeping me up too terribly bad at night. Aside from the normal recovery pain I am doing very well and so happy with the difference in how I feel already with the endo being gone. I have read some womens stories who never experienced meno. symptoms even with ovary removal but they are few and far between.
I am hoping to be a lucky one and not be effected. If the symptoms do come about I will be looking for natural alternative treatment. As I can not take estrogen due to the chance that it causes endo to grow and most likely will return
I would love any advice, knowledge, and guidance with what to expect in the coming weeks and months and especially any hopeful stories of total hysterectomy w/ovary removal with minimal to no meno. Effects�� thanks in advance ladies!!
