1 Week out, swelly belly, what to eat?

Its been a week and a day since TVH. My biggest complaint right now is how swollen my belly is. I want to eat and yet everything I eat seems to just make it want to burst! Could use advise on what works best and what to stay away from!

So far I've found yogurt w/ regulating stuff, and whole grain kashi type granola bars and crackers seem ok. Soup is too filling.

I can't believe how little I have eaten in the last week and still weight the same as preop!

I found that creme of wheat and toast and iced green tea were my friends!
I am one week post op and am just now begining to feel like I want to eat.
I did blow it yesterday by having a coke....I learned my lesson real quick!

today I had a little french toast and some sausage, not much but enough to fill me up!

The green tea sounds like a good thing to try, thanks! I'm really shocked at how big my belly is, I hope it starts to go down soon!

I forgot to add water! lots of water...I think I will be sick of water and green tea once I have recovered!

My belly isn't that swollen......what procedure did you have done? My dr removed my uterus and falliopian tube and left everything else....

I had a TVH, took cervix, uterus, left tubes and ovaries. I had a grapefruit sized fibroid so I guess I was lucky he was able to get it out vaginally, not sure if that resulted in more swelling. I also had low grade fevers breaking through whenever the advil and percocet wore off the first 4-5 days, finally switched to advil/tylenol and by the 5th evening the fevers stopped, but I wonder if that delayed my swelling recovery?? Ok going to get more water LOL

the fibroid they removed from me weighed 4 pounds! My dr took a pic for me. I too had low grade fevers while in the hospital and I was given blood.

My dr said mine was too big to be removed vaginally and although she said she would try to save the uterus, there was too much damage with the fibriod and endmentriosis ( i know I spelled that wrong!!)
I can't wait to feel better!!!!

maybe that's why my belly doesn't look so bloated??? because it was so bloated before the surgery!
