I am a newbie too !

Hello all! I heard about this wonderful group from my Weight Watchers meeting leader after I told her I would be undergoing a hysterectomy soon. My surgery is set for June 7 and I cannot wait to get it over with, this waiting is the hard part! It is so comforting to read about your experiences and to know I am not alone! My doctor is planning on a LAVH unless he finds something that would not otherwise let it be performed. ( I am hoping he can though! ) I have dealt with heavy periods, bad cramps etc. for years plus fibroids and recently found out I have an ovarian cyst as well. After weighing the few options I had, (doing nothing, been there been doing that lol), (going on BC pills, not a good option for me because of migraines) and having the surgery, I told my dr. I want the surgery! I am sitting here right now dealing with my third period in just over a month and will be SO happy when I do not have to go through all it entails again! Sorry I rambled a bit but it is so comforting to know there are others out there who can relate! Thanks!

Diane

I am a newbie too !

Hi Deester! Welcome to the board - I'm a newbie as of yesterday. AND, welcome to the JUNE 7 SURGERY DATE. I'm having mine done that day as well in Denver.

I can't say a whole lot to you because I'm very new at this myself (I just found out Monday I'm having this done) but everyone here is very knowledgable and helpful. I'm really glad I found this place, and I didn't have the luxury of a referral!!

We can only hope that after we have this done we'll be feeling a whole lot better, hormones, menopause and period free.

Hi Deester, Welcome ~ I am also new and having my surgery on June 7, in Sacramento, CA. You will find comfort on this board. Everyone has been very helpful. Your story sounds so much like mine, it's unreal. You are not alone. June 7th should bring relief to all of us....

I am a newbie too !

Thank you Connie! It is good to know we are all in such good company! I found out almost 3 weeks ago that my dr. would perform my hysterectomy. I have been just putting up with and trying to deal with the pre-menstrual migraines, heavy periods and all the other miseries that go with it for years. Wishing you and all the other ladies in waiting the best!
