cinci2,
I'm sorry you're having a tough time. We're here for you.
Have you talked to your doctor about your inability to sleep? Lack of sleep can be really tough on you emotionally.
You didn't say whether you kept your ovaries or not or whether you are taking any hormones. If you are, it can take a while to get the balance of hormones right-you will need to keep in close contact with your doctor to get them regulated. If your depression is inhibiting you from participating in your daily activities, talk to your doctor. There may be something they can do to help you.
You are not alone. The feelings you are going through are very common after this surgery.

Re: Help please. 8 weeks post-op
cinci2 - so sorry to hear you are having a bit of a rough time with emotions and sleep. I agree with QueenMia about talking with your doctor about hormones.
I've had problems with insomnia in the past and I've found that yoga has helped me a lot. Still, when I do have a bad night I've found that getting out of bed and moving to couch or chair for a while sort of relaxes me again. It's almost like when you are in bed and can't fall asleep all you think about is sleeping and how hard it is and it just creates a lot of stress.
Anyway, I hope you feel better soon and wishing you a goodnight's sleep!

Re: Help please. 8 weeks post-op
I'm glad to hear you're trying HRT-hopefully it will start to help soon. If you give it a little time and things aren't getting better, be sure to contact your doctor again. My understanding is that it can take a while to figure out just what levels of hormone replacement (and which kind of hormones) will work for each individual. Don't give up. Keep trying and you'll figure out what will work for you. Hope you're feeling better soon.
I think there is a discussion group for people dealing with the effects of hormones (the hormone jungle?). This may help put you in contact with more people going through what you are.

Sorry you are feeling down...give it a little time with the HRT...it may take a bit to get it all regulated. I know lack of sleep affects my mood terribly...talk to your dr about taking something for a while until you get the hormones under control...remember you are not alone. Hopefully soon you will rejoicing the new and better YOU! Many blessings and hugs!

Re: Help please. 8 weeks post-op
Hi there,
I am sorry you are down. This surgery has not been easy on me either, and I do understand. I am glad that you are taking HRT and do encourage you, like the other ladies on this post, to talk with your doctor should these symptoms continue, especially about the sleep. Also, walk if you can, and try to get back into a routine as much as you can. I find that when I am active and doing things, I do better, and my surgery was not that far behind you.
Know you are not alone. Have faith, pray, and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
