I am so sorry that your doctor didn't explain everything to you before your surgery. I can totally understand you being upset about that. This is a big deal and you should have been more informed before going into this.
As far as the cervix is concerned, I'm so sorry that you were unaware it was being removed. If a hysterectomy is done vaginally, the cervix is removed since it is the bottom part of the uterus and comes out first. Anytime the cervix is removed, the woman then has a vaginal cuff, which closes off the vagina to the pelvic cavity. You really won't even know it is there once you are healed.
As far as the tummy thing...not everyone has a fat roll above the incision. I do not have one at all. If your tummy was flat before surgery, I see no reason why you would have a fat roll after the surgery. If your tummy is not flat right now, it is probably what we refer to as "swelly belly" and it is completely normal after this surgery and it does go away for most women.
Again, I am so sorry you are having to go through this. You are not the only one, I assure you. It might be good for you to check out the
Aching Hearts forum. There are many women there dealing with grief and loss since their hysterectomies and you will find some wonderful support there.
I hope that you can find peace with what has happened and find the support you need. I'm keeping you in my thoughts and
and sending you
