two days...

Two months have turned into two days. Where did all that time go? Am I the only one who has their preop the day before? I go tomorrow to do it all then will find out my time. All I know is that i hope it's early so I don't have any more time to think about it. I am so ready to be on the *other* side.
Still so much to fo here - clean house , grocery shop etc. Yesterday was my youngests 6th bday party and those two hours wiped me out. Oh, is anyone else staring at the ceilings at night time???

soon to be over

Yes

starring at my ceilings and thinking, talking to myself.
Noticing the ring on my ceiling that the ceiling fan has
left with the dust bunnies. It's clear under where the fan
blades are but about a foot beyond it is the mess that
the fan has blown to the ceiling. Sigh

My surgery is set for 11 am. I have to be there at 9:30
and haven't got anything done to the house yet.
I washed baseboards last week but that don't count.
I need to move my bed to where I can see the tv, and
possibly move the living room furniture around. I plan to
begin after church today.

Let us know what time you have to go in.

Melissa
I too, am 4/8 Lady in Waiting. I have been very busy with DD's dance recital and all the other "stuff". I was at the hospital this am for more blood work
and still waiting on a urine test. I pray things don't get postponed. I don't think so .. because I have waiting way too, tooo, long. All this talk started in December with test, after test , MRI, preops, talk .
I was staring at the ceiling for nights until my dear primary care phys.
gave me a very low dose xanax just to take the edge off. I was taking
tylenol pm to help.. but it wasn't working any more. I am trying to focus on
spring and being home healing. Maybe sitting on the new porch swing and watching the forsythia and lilacs bloom. They are forcasting snow again.
At least I don't have to drive to baseball tryouts and lacrosse as the fields are covered with snow and ice. IN APRIL in New England. ugh.
Think Spring and I will be thinking of you and Txlynn.
here's to sisters of the 8th

TOMORROW

My name is Melissa, also...I mention that to avoid confusion.

I'll chime in here....though I'm not a 4/8 sister, I go TOMORROW!

I'm just trying to keep busy today....can't "stress" eat because I'm on all liquids for the bowel prep. I'm doing some housework, a few loads of laundry, and will spend today arranging the bedroom for my post-op comfort. I got one of those "body pillows"....I think that will be a boon. DH (well, and also my pug, and my cat, are all "cuddley" sleepers, primarily with me, and I think this may encourage them to sort of "keep their distance" without me needing to be rude and start kicking my cuddley family out of the bed.

My anesthesiologist (at my request) gave me some Valium for the nights before....I requested something to turn off my head, my dreams were about as wonky as they get! I understand this is normal, but did want to get some rest.

I'm my docs first surgery tomorrow....I have to be there at 5:30 a.m., which is FINE with me. The sooner I go, the sooner I get good drugs, and the sooner I'm outta there.

Hang in there, girls, and I will, too. Soon, the biggest worry we'll have will be just keeping that crown polished up.

Cheers, Melissa

Hey gator,

Good luck to you.

Oddly enough, for me the last few weeks before my surgery, I slept better than I had in years. I don't know if it was because of a hormonal change or peace of mind from making an educated decision and coming to terms with it by participating on these message boards and the chat room.

I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to sleep the night before surgery, however, I was exhausted that evening and slept very well. Actually, I was kind of afraid I'd miss my alarm so I set 2 of them. LOL

If you do end up with insomnia, try the chat room. There are usually people on there late, then it dies down perhaps a little and then the folks on the other side of the world start logging on. They are all great at supporting you and keeping you company. I've learned, laughed and cried with my hystersisters at the chatroom.

Good luck to you. See you on the other side.
