Ok, First off, what are you taking? Did the DR prescribe the GoLytly or the Fleet? If it came in the gallon jug, it's GoLytly, if you got a little bottle, it's probably the fleet.

If the Dr gave you GoLytly, try to get ahold of the fleet instead. You can buy it in the drugstore without a prescription.

Pour a little Gingerale, 7up, or Sprite in a cup (never heard of using the Crystal lite, but you could give it a try) and add just a little of the Fleet Phospha soda. Hold your nose, and "shoot" the mixture. Follow with a gulp of really cold Gingerale, 7up, or Sprite, close your mouth and belch.

Trust me, that little bottle of Fleet Phospha Soda does just as good a job as that huge bottle of GoLytly.

Also note: have flushable wipes on hand as cleaning your bottom that many times with paper will cause it to get very irritated! A&D ointment stops the fire that develops after about the 5th trip to the potty. And just as important, if you put a wash cloth on either side of the toilet seat, it takes longer to develop "ring around the butt"

Good luck!

Just went to a pre-op with my general doctor and I asked him if I could have a script for "VISICOL" - it is the same thing as fleets - sodium phosphate - but it is in tablet form. So I will be trying that one instead of the Magnesium citrate I was told to take. I know my body better, and magnesium doesn't make me go...

The information on Visicol came from the WOMEN's world magazine last week, I believe.
