what is adeno/endo/etc?

I can't seem to navigate this site very well. I'm sure the answers to most of my questions are here someplace, but I can't find them. What is adenomyosis? What is Endo? What is BCOS? I have 9 fibroids and long painful periods, and that is enough, but if the Dr. finds any of this stuff during surgery I would like to know what to expect. Thanks for your help. Also, any help in navigating would be appreciated.

here's the link to the abreviations https://www.hystersisters.com/vb2/vie...=abbreviations

If you scroll down this page you will see a long aden thread.
Endo is scarring of the uterus, but that's pretty much all I know about endo.

welcome to the boards

Welcome to Hystersisters!

Here is a link to our resources about endometriosis and adenomyosis: Hystersisters Endo/Adeno Resources. Briefly, endo is when the endometrial lining of the uterus ends up growing outside the uterus. Adeno is when endometrial tissue is found in the muscular portion of the uterine wall.

We also have several resources about firoids as well: Hystersisters Fibroid Resources.

Did you mean PCOS instead of BCOS? PCOS is Poly-Cystic Ovary Syndrome, and is an endocrine disease. You can do a seach for PCOS in our Resource Database.

I hope you are able to use the site to find the information and support you are seeking! As you are in the pre op stage, you would probably benefit most from the Pre Op Section.

Minimee. Sorry to hear that you are having problems. Unfortunately endo is hard to diagnosis until the doc is in your abdomin. Mine found endo, and endo scar tissue extensively through my pelvis. Been having severe pain/bleeding problems, but had no idea how bad it was inside. Good Luck
