Pain and bleeding after cervical biopsy

I had a cervical biopsy done 3 days ago for pending hysterectomy. Very painful, but expected that because my cervix is difficult to get to. Very uncomfortable for first two days but then started with severe cramping and bleeding. Doctor said not to worry?! Starting to think its a period but I am so regular and not due for two weeks. Any insight would be appreciated!

Re: Pain and bleeding after cervical biopsy

I had a biopsy last month. I had bleeding immediately after the biopsy and severe cramps. My doctor told me to take ibuprofen

Re: Pain and bleeding after cervical biopsy

I bled for 4 or 5 days after my cervical biopsy. My doctor told me to expect my underwear to look like the changing color of the leaves during the autumn (he is such a funny guy). But he was right. The discharge was everything from gold to orange to red. I think i even had a little pinkish color on day 6 or 7.

Re: Pain and bleeding after cervical biopsy

I've had several cervical biopsies for dysplasia ... Each one was hell due to scar tissue from a LEEP procedure... Not a lot of bleeding for me but pain would last a few days.

Re: Pain and bleeding after cervical biopsy

I've had a cervical and uterine biopsy. Both made me very crampy and I bled for 4-5 days after each. It sucks, you'll get thru it I promise maybe try a heating pad on your stomach. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: Pain and bleeding after cervical biopsy

Also, the stress of waiting for the surgery can make our periods out of whack. I know my periods were crazy right before surgery due to my nerves & stress. It would show up out of the blue. Like the last hoorah or something, lol.
