Kick Starting Those Ovaries!

Hi Sisters, I've learned so much on here already, not least that the casual reassurances at the hospital about not having an early menopause (I've kept my ovaries) are not necessarily to be trusted.

From you guys I've learned that my ovaries will be in shock, 8 days post-op. Is there anything I can do to wake them up? Thinking of herbal treatments rather than poking myself in the side with a sharp stick (according to a thread I read earlier, my ovaries might not be where I thought they were any more!)

Your wisdom, as always, will be most gratefully received.

Thanks also to all those who responded with compassion and sisterhood to my 'newbie' thread, I read every word with a tear in my eye - in a good way - then got called away to a visitor and by the time I returned I was too late to reply. Thank you all, you helped me big time.

Mine took about a month and a half to kick in.. Hang in there, could be sooner for you.. Everyone is different.. I was happy about it because my hot flashes came in the middle of winter. ;-)

I don't know about jump starting them, but if you have intolerable issues prior to your ovaries getting back to work, you can talk to your dr about your options. Some ladies (my mother included) find using bcp for awhile can help.

I had menopause and PMS symptoms all mixed together at one point! That was not fun!

Thanks for the support, much appreciated. Sounds like anything could happen, the more I read others' stories! My General Practitioner is good, but I like to be pro-active when I can...helps me feel in control.
