As for your insomnia, I too have been having a problem with this the first week and a half. Went to the doc yesterday for an incision check and asked her about it. She said almost everybody that comes through the door after a hysterectomy has the same 2 complaints: Loss of appetite and insomnia. She said it should resolve on its own. I spent the first week laying in bed, watching TV, doing crossword puzzles, and dozing whenever I felt like it. I think I actually got a sufficient amount of sleep that way, it was just split up into about a million naps. LOL!

I only got dizzy the first few times I was up out of bed at the hospital, but I know I have had to make frequent changes from laying down to sitting to standing to walking short distances since being home to keep from getting too sore. If I sit or lay for too long, my whole belly gets sore and it's hard to change positions.

Please just pamper yourself, rest, drink lots and lots of water, eat when you feel like it (that was my doc's advice to me) and let your body heal. It's been through a LOT!!

Home Lisa.. I hope that you get the sleep that you need. I'm sure that the sleeping pill will work. Take it easy and drink your water. Let us know how you are doing as soon as you can. God Bless

cleaning the bathrooms after 5 days post op!! I thought I was the only crazy person. I was trying to mop the floors and do laundry when my husband caught me and threatened to lock me up.

I had my LAVH on July 18, and came home yesterday also. I'm very sore, taking frequent naps, and trying to walk around the living room when I can. This is the first time I've felt able to get on the computer, and now I think I need to go take another nap! Take care.
