post-op blues

I had a partial hysterectomy about 8 weeks ago due to a 7 1/2 lb fybroid tumer. I had to also have 1 ovary removed unexpectedly as well due to endametriosis. 2 weeks after my surgery I woke up and my right side was covered in blood. I was terrified! I completely freaked. I called my neighbor and she rushed me to my doctor. I thought my incision had busted open. Not at all. My incision had gotten infected and had a large abcess (sp?) That had burst which left me with a hole in my incision a little over 7 cm deep. I started off going back to the doctor every other day to havethe packing removed a cathader inserted and drained and then repacked. Extremely painful. I'm now down to twice a week and its about 2cm. I still can't drive, sleep in my bed, bend over, or walk very well. And I can't sleep at night from wondering what I did wrong. I followed the doctors orders to a T. And the first week I was home luckily my best friend was with me b/c I past out cold going upstairs. Anyone else out there have such an extremely tough and painful recovery with any advice?
