SHOCKED to FEEL SO GREAT!

After reading posts, I was expecting to have horrible swelly belly, hot flashes, and just be a mess. I had a total hysterectomy via the Da Vinci on Oct. 10th so I am exactly two weeks post-op. I feel GREAT!!!I have lost a few pounds, and feel like my old self. Most importantly, I am having regular bowel movements. I was diagnosed with stage 3/4 Endometriosis and have had bowel problems for awhile. I guess I didn't realize how bad the Endometriosis was really making me feel. I am still taking Tramadol for pain, but I can go for awhile without taking it. I have minor hot flashes, but a small hand-held battery-operated fan has been a lifesaver (probably the most thougtful gift my husband has ever given me)! I have had a couple of short outings, but I have had to nap after them...and was a little sore. No swelly belly, no horrible hot flashes, not a mess...yet. I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. However, maybe choosing to be positive helps more than people suspect. I have had meals brought to me for the last 13 days...my mom and mother-in-law help out during the day. I think feeling loved and cared for has really helped, too! This site has also been a blessing. The best thing women can do for themselves is find other supportive women and nurture those relationships! Good luck to all else who are post-op. Stay positive! We are more than our parts!

Hugs all around.
