Anyone Else Had This Experience?

Hi, everyone. I'm hoping to hear that some of you had experiences similar to mine before your hyst so I can stop feeling like I'm going crazy. I've had the 10-day periods every two weeks for about seven months now, and I could deal with that and keep going. And I've had pelvic pain that's gotten progessively worse for 10 or 12 years. Again, as long as nobody took away my pain pills, I could keep going. But now, I've reached the point where I feel like I have the flu all the time. I am absolutely exhausted from the moment I wake up. And my muscles hurt so bad! The worst of it is actually my mid to upper back. It hurts so bad most days it almost makes me sick. The rest of my muscles feel sore and heavy, too, though. And then there's the nausea - getting worse every day. I can only eat certain foods now, and just the smell of anything else makes me too sick to eat. And all this started rather suddenly. I've only been having these problems since mid-December, and they get a big step worse every time I start another period.

And the worst of it is trying to go to work every day feeling this way. But it's still two weeks until time for my surgery. At this rate, I'm not sure I'll be able to walk into the castle! My GP's run umpteen tests, but everything looks just fine. I asked him today, "Am I just supposed to drag through my life the best I can until surgery?" His answer was, "I don't know anything else to tell you to do."

Did anyone else have this kind of problem? How did you get through it?

Thanks for letting me vent, ladies. It really helps to have a place to come where someone understands.

It's amazing

Although I can not relate to all the symptoms you are having, I can relate to many. It truly amazes me how many symptoms can rear their ugly heads from a bad uterus I use to wake up every morning feeling like something was just not right. Tired, muscle aches, acid reflux just to mention a few. The good news is at 6 weeks post op I feel wonderful, wake up everyday feeling better and better. The good news for u is that u only have 2 more weeks b4 u also start to feel much better. You have toughed it out for this long two more weeks should be a cake walk for u. I think that do not themselves realize how many symptoms we may encounter. Keep us posted on your recovery and stop in chat and talk awhile. The ladies there are a wonderful resource of info and support.

The pukes is the worst.

I have had the nasuea/pukes for about 6 months. Constantly! And the stomach pains. The aches thru whole body. Thats really what sent me to the doc mor then the periods being awful and heavy. I didn't thikn that it was connected to my uterus. But dr assure me its all tied in together. I am on phenegran for the nasuea. Good luck!

me too

Had the 10 day period every two weeks, constant upset stomach, acid reflux, poor digestion sometimes what went in came out looking just the same, headaches, and body aches and cold cold cold all of the time. Never thought I was normal but starting to think I might be after hanging out at hystersisters.

Oh now the good news had my surgery Jan 21/02 and feel great. Still have a few of the lingering side effects but seem to have more energy now than ever before. The skoots are going away, not as naseaus as before and maybe because the initial pain of the surgery is over taking the body aches I do not seem to feel them as much.
