Unhappy - is this realistic? is this realistic?

Hey ladies,
My TAH is scheduled next week. I'm planning on running a marathon the beginning of May. I know that healing and recovery are individual but do you think my goal is realistic. I am a goal driven woman and try to set myself up for success.......what do you think?

Re: is this realistic?

Yes, I think you can do it! Mine was last April and I'm not a very fit person but life is better than before! I'm just now starting to workout. Take it easy the first two months and then workout a gradual training to prepare yourself. If your doing a hyst, u can do anything!

Yes!! Definitely realistic!! Start slow and easy and you'll have that marathon finish for sure.

Re: is this realistic?

Check back in and let us know how it went after you do it! I am a runner and am sure I'll have to start back slowly but I hope by the spring I am feeling pretty good!

Re: is this realistic?

Listen to your body. If it tells you to stop or slow down I would listen. I waited a year before I did my marathon but it was also my first. I did a bunch of smaller races (5Ks to Halfs) but the toll my body took with my surgery wasn't ready for a full and all it's training. Listen to your doctor (my doc told me to wait a year also) and listen to your body. I just did the Chicago Marathon and loved it! I'm glad I waited. Good luck!!!
