If so, does anyone have any experience with it...how long post op did it come back, affect on hubby?

To HRT, or not to HRT

(((Mrs Gnarly)))

Your questions are very legitimate. Here is a link to some information we have on this site that may help you answer some of them or may give you more questions for your Dr's visit:

No Hormone Articles

We also have a message board No Hormone Desert Oasis . You can read posts in this forum to see what women who can't use HRT are experiencing, although you can't post there until after your sugery. If you have questions after reading those posts, you can always come back here and ask more questions.

Hope this helps,

Kay

Thank you :-)

I have decided to opt for Vivelle :-) The surgeon said I will be started on it the same day of my surgery. I feel good about it :-)

Hi Mrs. Gnarly!

I also use Vivelle Dot and I am a big fan of it. Just so you know, some of us after a hysterectomy/oophorectomy require more than just estrogen. I'm using Vivelle for my estrogen and along with it use 2 creams--one is compounded progesterone and the other is compounded testosterone. I also use Vagifem which is a tiny estrogen tablet specifically prescribed for treating vaginal dryness/atrophy.

Starting out with estrogen only is a good way to go. Just know that if your libido is missing after surgery as mine was, it's often possible for it to return by careful balancing of hormones.

s to you!
