It's a colpopexy

Talked to the nurse at my dr's ofc and she told me the procedure I will be having is called a colpopexy. In all my "travels" here on this web-site, I don't think I've seen that one. I was concerned about the mesh they will be using, and the dr (a uro-gyn~ who is actually an assistant professor at a University~ said she has used it for 6 years and hasn't seen any erosion in that time. (still didn't say what exactly that is) I really think doctors don't think that you care to know those kinds of details!
I think I'll google it to get some more info.
So, anyone have this procedure done? I am feeling pretty good about everything so far --even tho I teeter back and forth--

It's a colpopexy

Hi

I don't have any personal experience, but I entered "colpopexy" in the search box at the top of the page, and it did pull up 82 threads. Maybe you will find some information there until someone comes along with some personal support for you.

That's what I was told that I am having also.... The Dr. is on vacation so have no idea of what "Type" of mesh is going to be used. Found a really good website......loaded with .... pictures . Goodness, rather wish I hadn't done that......lol.

I was told that erosion, is when the mesh rubs and irritates the surrounding tissues...
