Tummy swollen on both sides where ovaries were

Hi, I had a tummy tuck a year before my hyst, 2 months ago. Had a very easy time with it all. My stomach stayed nice and flat and tight. Lately, I've noticed my "ovaries" (which do not exist) feel tender. Also, on both sides my tummy is somewhat swollen where my ovaries were, but my tummy and even these areas are hard and tight. Do you have any ideas if I should be concerned? My husband said it is probably scar tissue and still healing. Have any of you felt anything like this. After my hyst. I had relatively no pain worth mentioning, so why the ache now where my ovaries were? I know this is a pretty stupid question. Thanks. bonniebolander60

Re aching "ovaries"

I, too, have pain in that area -- both without touching (noticeable but not too bad), and to the touch (OUCH!!). I'm 16 weeks post-surgery (total hysterectomy, anterior and posterior repair, TVT tape). My sister-in-law, a nurse practitioner who has also been through hysterectomy, told me it can take 6 months and more for soft-tissue healing. It's great that your husband is an encourager and trying to keep you from worrying. I do think you should tell your doctor, though. He'll probably tell you not to worry, but that's for him to say, not you. Also, if you end up coming back to him in several months with the problem still happening, he'll have in the records that you mentioned it before. Happy healing.
