Re: swelly belly worse
I have heard it can take up to 6 months as well for our swelly belly to go down. I am 3 1/2 mos. out and I had a bladder repair on post op day two. My tummy still swells esp. after a busy day. I am back to work and doing most of all my activities. I try not to lift too much and do not run or I am in pain.
Healing is a slow but hopefully steady progress. I measured my belly yesterday am and in the pm and there was 1.5 inch difference so I know it is not my imagination.
Hang in there ladies it does get better!

Dew1: It doesn't help the swelling, but I have found that a heating pad has helped me with the tenderness and sleeping with a body pillow helps take some pressure off (I am a side sleeper, so it really helps). Good luck!

Re: swelly belly worse
Right there with you all. I had visions of losing weight following surgery...HA! But the swelly belly saga continues. I too notice it is more swollen towards the end of the day and much more tender after getting out and about a bit. Ice does help some, I think I'll try a belly band next. Something has to hold that sucker in. Sounds gross but some days it feels like it's just hanging there and you have to lift it up just to see the incision. I really appreciate all you ladies on the same path sharing your experiences...sure does help.
