Re: recovery

Glad it's behind you -- and yeah, the first few days after a TAH, you feel like you were hit by a truck. It DEFINITELY gets better. *very gentle hug*

Re: recovery

I promise it gets better! I know it hurts like nothing I was expecting. Make sure you tell them if you are still in pain, they will make you comfortable. Thinking of you!

Re: recovery

Thanks ladies! So just spoke with my doc. My uterus was so damaged that it was the size on a uterus at 10 weeks gestation. My cervix was very inflammed and my fallopian tubes hardly had a hole going through them for the egg to pass due to scar tissue. Also there was alot of scar tissue outside my uterus which caused my uterus to be adhered to my bladder and bowels. So im in alot of pain. The meds make me high but only takes the edge off the pain. Also i have tuese compression things on my legs to stimulate blood flow. Anyway im going to get some sleep. Ill update as things progress! Thanks for the supoort. <3

Re: recovery

Make sure to let your nurses know how much pain you are in. Sometimes all it takes is a change in meds..It really does get better..hang in there!

You posted from recovery? Wow! I vaguely remember a nurse telling me I could push the button for my morphine, I asked why my throat was so sore, and that was it! I'm sorry you had so many problems, but it should all get better now. Best wishes for your recovery!

I must have been in a haze when I posted. Yikes! I don't think I even had my phone in recovery. But yes it was the MOST awful pain I'd ever had in my life in recovery. I vaguely remember waking up the first time in immense pain then something about a button. Then ahhh relief. Drifting off and waking up I'm hell again and having someone try to scold me about not pushing my button until I asked her if she was out of her freggin mind.

I'd just come out of major surgery in the worst pain of my life, I'm drifting in and out and you're trying to scold me??
