prolapse optons??????????
I too feel like I'm being a baby with all this. Most of you have such severe symptoms compared to mine. Friday my regular DR told me, my uterus is prolapsed, no mention of degrees or anything. I have a gyn apt. on the 18th and am looking for advice on what questions to ask. I have some bladder control issues... did not even know they could be related. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Sprout
I didn't have prolapse problems, but many ladies here either are struggling with this or were pre op.
Here is a link to the top of this forum where we have a list of links to other great resources for information about conditions like prolapse. Scroll down the list to see the links related to prolapse. I hope this will help!

prolapse optons??????????
Dear sprout,
Beth gave you a link to some good info about prolapse & the options available to treat it.
85% of hysterectomies are performed for quality of life reasons, not to SAVE a life, so don't feel like you aren't *sick* enough. Only YOU must live with your pre-op symptoms.
Keep reading.. get another opinion (or two). Get smart about your symptoms and your options, and make the best choice for YOU.

Hi Sprout
I am 12 days post op. I had a TVH for prolasped uterus. I
discovered mine on my own. I was on my period which Dr. said
your uterus is further down during a cycle but, I got up one mor-
ning and went to wipe and felt it there and I knew it wasn't a
tampon because I would never wear one to bed. I got out the
medical book and just about knew it was the tip end of the uterus. (Scary) Just so happen I had an anual exam scheduled
for the next week. Also I stand all day in the salon I work at and
I had alot of discomfort and heavy periods. After hysterectomy
Dr. said I had endometriosis and did'nt know it but, was headed
for disaster. But now Thank God I am on my way to recovery.
Prolaspe is a big deal. I could have went a little longer and mine
would have been hanging between my legs. Dr. said there are
3 stages and mine was in the 2 stage. 3 and its out.. between
legs. I suggest you get-R-done.

Thank you all for your help. I see my DR again on the 18th. I found the links and information here very helpfull. You've answered my questions and calmed my fears better than the first DR I saw.

prolapse optons??????????
When I went to my usual Pap test I mentioned that "something" was coming out when I sit and my periods have been heavier and more painful.
She sent me to a specialist who said that my uterus dropped 75% down and is pulling my bladder (that's why I pee every half hour or so) and it's starting to affect my rectum as well.
His opinion was:
I could ignore it & live with it (many do) but my urinary problems & BM ability will worsen and my slight backaches (which I didn't know has something to do with all this) will get worse. He also said that if I don't take care of it now I will have to do it in about 10 years or so (when I'm over 40 & who knows how my arthritis will be in my knees).
I spoke with my husband and we decided to end my "uncomfortableness". It's a scary deal but I feel that it's better to do it now when I'm more fit and healthy.

prolapsed uterus
I had a prolapsed uterus and bladder...lived with it for several years. It finally became painful and had a TVH 3 weeks ago. I am soooooo glad that I did. I had lived with the discomfort so long that I really didn't realize how it had affected my quality of life. As I am healing from the surgery, I realize that I had been in pain for a long time. The condition does get worse as you get older, but you may have more options. Just don't wait too long.
