how much weight can I lift 3 months post op?

HI everyone. I had my surgery April 27,2010. I am a LPN. I went back to work my 8th wk after surgery. On July 19 I started a home position taking care of a 40lb child. This child has to be lifted and carried back and forth. Is this too much weight to lift. Please respond because I don't want to jeopardize my health.

Re: how much weight can I lift 3 months post op?

I have no answers, sorry. I would call and ask your doctor though. They would be the best person to ask.

That does sound like a lot, but again..call your doc. Each person's recovery would be different.

Re: how much weight can I lift 3 months post op?

every individual is different.

I would listen to your body and if you think that it is too much for you to handle then there is your answer.

Not much help, sorry, but I think that you are the best judge.

Re: how much weight can I lift 3 months post op?

If you are not bleeding or having new pain you may not be hurting anything. I would call the doctor & make sure he/she thinks it is ok. Best wishes.
