I think I over did it in a major way!!!!

Good morning everyone. I'm 6 &1/2 weeks post op from a TAH. I think yesterday I overdid it and today I am in major pain. I could use some advice. We took our 3 kids to the park and then went to Super Target. I was pushing my dd on the swing and I think I might have pulled a muscle or something because today I am HURTING. I have tried tylenol and motrin but nothing is helping. Any suggetions? I was thinking about trying a muscle relaxer? How much longer is it going to be before I am back to normal again? I am so tired of this!!

Chrissy, so sorry you aren't feeling so great. If your pain is not relieved by Tylenol or Motrin and you still have it tomorrow I would put a call in to your Dr in the morning just to let him know or definitely go to the ER if the pain worsens today. I wish I could give you the "magic date" when everything returns to normal. It seems like progress is slow and immeasurable but try looking back to what you felt at 2 or 3 weeks post op and you'll realize that you are getting better. I am 10 weeks post op and I still have days that I have pain or am tired, the Dr says it takes at least 6 months for a full recovery. I hope you feel better soon. 's

Aww, I hate it when I thought I could return to everything, then was reminded I was still recovering. Take it easy today, put your feet up and relax a bit. If that doesn't help, then a call into your doc would ease your worries.
I did lots and lots of very energetic things by 4 weeks after surgery, but I still had to rest some everyday until about 4-6 months after surgery.

I agree with Michelle, you might even want to place a call today just to be safe. Put your feet up and relax , I've been dealing with problems of my own so I know how you feel. Take care......Kim

I think I over did it in a major way!!!!

I hopped a fence yesterday and feel like I have been kicked in the stomach today (yesterday was 6 months for me). My dr. said it takes a year to 18 months to completely heal so it's gonna be awhile til everything is completely normal , sorry I am sure that's not what you are looking to hear.
After 4 months I had much less pain and felt more "normal". Take it easy and maybe try a heating pad. If you feel like trying your muscle relaxer then go for it, it may knock you out for a little bit so that can prevent you from over doing it again.
I know 6 weeks feels like it should be the magic date were you can go back to doing everything, but you still really have to watch it for awhile.
Gentle hugs!!

I think I over did it in a major way!!!!

Last week I had the worst stabbing pain for several hours. I don't know what I did, but I don't want to do it again. Anyway I decided to wait til the next day(of course it happened at night when the only answer you get is go to the er). By the next day it was sore but better. Now it doesn't hurt at all. It is hard to remember just how much your body has gone through, so I guess it has to remind you now and then.
I hope you feel better too.
