TLH: Thinking it was home stretch.. Sinus infection!

Just when I thought it was home stretch, I'd get the surgery and be done with it and send Auntie Flo on her way, I get a . I'd been coughing and sneezing a lot over the weekend and today woke up with just a little pressure in the forehead. My ENT Doc is on vacation, but his second was on duty and let me schedule in the afternoon.

I called my Gyno doc, and he prescribed an antibiotic I couldn't take. Ruh-roh. He said if I had an infection, they wouldn't do an intubation, thus no surgery. "Intubation?????" I'll be asking more questions about that, for sure!

Saw the ENT doc, he gave me a good antibiotic and a shot of cortisone (so I'm gonna be a cookie monster tomorrow). And I'll be giving the doc the "do not take" med list again on Wednesday, if they let me have the surgery.

Intubation is when they put the tube down your throat to breathe for you when you are under general anesthesia. I imagine it is harder on you if you are conested and that is why they would reschedule if it got too bad. I have been afraid of getting sick and having to reschedule my surgery. I hope you clear up quickly and are able to get safely to the other side!

You know Chocolate, I have NEVER gotten sick in the middle of the summer, and yet this week of ALL weeks, I have come down with a massive head cold. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this. I hope everything goes as planned for you!

Argh! I hope you get the green light and can celebrate a life without the "red light" as scheduled!!!!
